Constables Mike Hempsall and Robert Midghall have been recognised by the Royal Humane Society for saving the life of a three-year-old girl who had stopped breathing after choking on a lollipop.
They released the obstruction, and eventually the girl started to breathe again.
Society president Dick Wilkinson said: ‘If it had not been for their fast response and expert actions she may well not have survived.’ He said they ‘richly deserve’ the Resuscitation Certificates. They are pictured receiving a Chief Constable’s commendation from Lt Govr Adam Wood in May.
