Staff at Douglas-based Microgaming and Derivo collected money throughout the year from various initiatives and fundraiser for local charity Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.
Claire Coleman, head of Microgaming PlayItForward, said: ‘Rather than letting old office furniture or computer monitors go to waste, we provide employees with the opportunity to utilise these at home and we ask for a charity donation in return. Furthermore, throughout the year we host several internal events and take part in sports where fundraising is applicable.
‘We’re delighted to be able to donate the money raised to Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation. It is a very active charity within the community, providing vital heart screening services to the public.’
Paul Healey, chairman for Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation, said: ‘We are incredibly grateful to Microgaming for their kind donation.
‘This donation will help towards our next batch of defibrillators, which we intend to donate to local clubs and offices. Teaming up with UK Charity Cardiac Risk in the Young, the next heart screening to take place on the Isle of Man is on May 2015 30 and 31 at Noble’s Hospital. If you are aged between 14 and 35 you can book through our website at www.craigsheartstrongfoundation.co.uk.’
