Air operator Citywing is looking to hear from Manx organisations interested in becoming its 2015 Charity of the Year.
The chosen charity will be offered support from Citywing throughout the year, including 24 return tickets to be used for fundraising purposes, the donation of proceeds from the popular annual ‘Plane Pull’ event, a promotional video shown on flights and further assistance promoting the charity’s work.
Managing director David Buck said: ‘It has been a privilege to work with Manx Cancer Help as Citywing’s 2014 Charity of the Year, and we are pleased that the partnership has helped raise significant funds as well as promoting the vital role that Manx Cancer Help plays in the local community.
‘I hope we will hear from a broad range of charitable organisations to give consideration to who we will appoint as our 2015 Charity of the Year.’
‘As part of the island community, we feel that it is both a responsibility and a pleasure for Citywing to give its support to the important work the charity sector carries out in the Isle of Man, and we look forward to being involved with another organisation next year.’
Andrea Chambers, CEO of Manx Cancer Help, added: ‘Citywing gave our fundraising a much needed boost this year by choosing us to be their charity of the year.
‘The Plane Pull was hugely successful and a fun way for the community to get involved and help a local charity. The event attracted a lot of teams and spectators on the day and raised a great amount of money, while Citywing’s generous donations of flights allowed us to come up with our own innovative fundraising ideas.
‘It has been a pleasure to work with Citywing throughout 2014. All funds raised have helped us to continue to provide support and specialist psychological services for anybody whose life has been affected by cancer, as well as a safe haven for patients and their loved ones at the Lisa Lowe Centre.’
Any charity interested in partnering with Citywing in 2014 should email Judith@Citywing.com by December 6. A decision will be made in the following week.
