This month marks the much anticipated launch of the third edition of You Can!; the eGaming industry’s start to finish guide on forming, licensing and running an eGaming company in the Isle of Man.

You Can! combines the expertise of numerous individuals and organisations from across the island’s world renowned eGaming cluster, ranging from representatives of government and the private sector, to regulatory and legislative bodies, and incumbent operators.

At more than 200 pages over five chapters, it forms a complete elaboration of the Isle of Man’s eGaming proposition to potential investors and acts as a trusted industry resource and guide for anyone wishing to enter into or consolidate within the global market.

Chapters encompass the practicalities of licensing and operating on the Isle of Man, including business modeling, infrastructure, player and data protection and assistance, as well as the ‘softer issues’ such as recruitment, education, access to ancillary and non-licensed sectors, and island life.

Paul Davis, chief executive officer of Counting House and co-editor, said: ‘Fully updated to October 2014, major changes have been made to the third issue to take account of the introduction of POC tax in the United Kingdom, the new UK licensing regime, and the abolition of the so-called ‘White List’.

‘There is also an extensive re-working of the licence types section, which explains which licences are appropriate for given activities.

‘Attention is given to new government policies on recruitment of foreign nationals to work in the Isle of Man. Recent tax changes are noted, and the financial sections are updated to include new structures for the safe storage of protected player funds and new players on the card processing scene.’

The Isle of Man is a world leader in eGaming, which remains one of the most innovative and rapidly growing areas of electronic enterprise today. Since it established the world’s first gaming specific regulation and legislation in 2001, the Island has become home to some of the world’s most reputable licensed organisations, each of which is supported by a first-class power and telecoms infrastructure as well as a full complement of professional service providers.

You Can! will be available for download in electronic format via the government website. Printed copies will also be available on the Department of Economic Development’s eGaming cluster stand at this year’s Excellence in Gaming expo in Berlin next week.
