AFTER weather conditions scuppered the first day of the music festival, organisers confirm the Saturday schedule is to go ahead as planned.
A full day of rain and high winds on Friday meant that 7pm the festival site was shut down.
Today’s line-up however, including The Charlatans, James Walsh and Turin Brakes, is set to go ahead and holders of Friday-only tickets are invited to attend today for free.
Festival organisers issued the following statement: ‘The organisers of The Garden Party would like to firstly thank everyone’s kind words and support even though the decision was made to abandon the continuation of yesterday’s event. The safety of everyone there was paramount.
WE would like to invite all that attended on a Friday only ticket to come back today for free. Alternatively, a refund can be requested for upon receipt of a complete Friday wristband or full Villa Marina ticket (both parts). Details can be provided through contact with media@thegardenparty.im
So, that weekend ticket holders don’t miss out we are also willing to provide them with a partial refund. Any drivers coming to the site please do not come onto the festival site. Carry along the road and park and the Fun Barn. Shuttle buses will bring you to site.
The Garden Party would like to thank everyone for this patience and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the festival.’
Gates opened at 12pm today.
