Lindsey Bermingham, one of the Isle of Man’s leading advocates, has been appointed as an additional director of law firm Cains.
‘I am delighted she is joining the board where her experience in many areas of legal work, together with her commercial pragmatism, will be welcome,’ said Peter Clucas, a director of the Isle of Man-based advocates and professional services group.
He added: ‘Lindsey has consistently demonstrated the highest standards in her practice over a number of years.’
Lindsey, whose practice focuses on all aspects of commercial and chancery litigation, has represented a wide range of clients.
Her main areas of expertise include regulatory matters, fraud, anti-money laundering and white collar crime.
She has acted for HM Attorney General/the United States Department of Justice in the case of re Poyiadjis in the Isle of Man High Court and for HM Attorney General in the prosecution of Trevor and Wendy Baines.
Currently, she is acting as local counsel for AIM listed company Hirco plc in proceedings brought by Hirco before the Isle of Man High Court in seeking damages of over £300 million for alleged fraud and misconduct against certain of its former directors.
On her appointment Lindsey said: ‘I am delighted to be joining the board of Cains Advocates Ltd and I look forward to contributing to the future development of the group.’
