The first of a dozen new innovative bins, designed to encourage people to tidy beaches, has been placed at Glen Wyllin beach.

The ‘Beach Buddies Big Beach Bin’ offers a plastic bag from a dispenser, hoping to encourage people to join in collecting rubbish from the island’s beaches.

Sponsor of the Glen Wyllin bin is The Society for the Preservation of the Manx Countryside and Environment.

Beach Buddies founder Bill Dale said: ‘It makes it easier for people to get involved.’
