Allegations made to a Tynwald committee by a former Heritage Homes employee should be considered for a possible police investigation according to Onchan MHK Peter Karran.
Charles Buster Lewin made various claims to a select committee looking into a land swap deal between Heritage Homes and the Department of Education for part of Michael School playing field .
But an addendum report by the select committee decided the allegations were unfounded and Tynwald voted to accept a recommendation to give no credence to any future proposals from Mr Lewin.
Mr Karran said it was wrong to deny Mr Lewin a voice in the future and instead his allegations, which included bribery, corruption and misconduct in public office, made under oath, should be investigated by police. If they were unfounded, and Mr Lewin knew that, action should be considered for perjury. So far, Mr Karran said he had received an acknowledgement from the police but no decision as yet.
