Hannah Hayhurst, nine, of Port St Mary is the winner of the Mantons Cards ‘Design a Christmas Card Competition’.
Hannah’s design has been turned into 1,000 greeting cards and all proceeds from the sales will be donated to the charity Crossroads Care.
The cards will be on sale at Mantons Cards and Crossroads Care.
As part of her prize, Hannah, a pupil at Scoill Phurt le Moirrey, receives a framed copy of her design and vouchers for the store which also sells toys.
Runners up Amy Edgell from Jurby and Abigail Pontee from Cronk-y-Berry (both also nine) will also receive Mantons vouchers.
The competition, organised by the Port Erin card store, was open to all of the island’s primary school children and there were 800 entries; the judging was undertaken by leading greeting card publisher Noel Tatt.
‘Everyone at Mantons was delighted with the quality of entries and the creativity of many of the designs were outstanding,’ said Chris Beards from Mantons. ‘Hannah and the runners up can be very proud to be chosen and also to be helping raise money for such a worthwhile local charity as Crossroads Care.’
