Harmony group The Overtones are to play at the Villa Marina next month ahead of the release of their new album.
The release of album Saturday Night at the Movies will take place on November 4, almost a month after their Villa gig on Saturday, October 5.
The concert is in aid of Junior Achievement Isle of Man and will see Mark Franks, Mike Crawshaw, Darren Everest, Timmy Matley and Lachie Chapman performing classic present-day British pop with their customary potent mix of good looks, great vocals and effortless style.
The Overtones landed a surprise hit with their debut album ‘Good Ol’ Fashioned Love’ released towards the end of 2012 which peaked at number four which they followed with last year’s ‘Higher’ which entered the charts at number six. The group performed in front of 250,000 people at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert, appeared at the Festival of Remembrance and in Hyde Park, London for festival shows BT London Live in 2012 and British Summer Time this year.
The Overtones’ biggest headline shows have been at the London Palladium and the Hammersmith Apollo. Their UK and Ireland tour in support of ‘Higher’ featured 27 shows stretching from Aberdeen to Plymouth via Dublin.
