The island hopes to welcome as many as 600 poker players to the capital this autumn when it plays host to the penultimate round in a gaming series.
Players in the UK and Ireland Poker Tournament will battle it out over four days in the Villa Marina entertainment complex in a competition which has prize money totalling half a million pounds.
Major sponsors for the tournament are Pokerstars who are underwriting the prize money on offer.
The tour kicks off in June with the opening round taking place in Marbella before moving to the possibly less sunny climes of Galway in August. From there it’s a trip across the Irish Sea for the third round in London followed by the Isle of Man round between October 31 and November 4. The players will be dealt their final hands in Nottingham at the end of November.
