Team expansion boosts firm’s expansion plans

Callin Wild Advocates has welcomed three new lawyers with a view to expanding their busy commercial and litigation departments.

Paul Branford and Laura Monk join the commercial team while Fletcher Craine has joined the litigation team.

Between them they bring a wide range of knowledge and experience to a firm which offers a depth of expertise in a wide range of services.

In the local arena Callin Wild is committed to being a full service legal practice offering expertise in all general practice areas.

On an international front Callin Wild provides advice and assistance on both commercial and litigation matters where there is a depth of experience in multi-jurisdictional commercial litigation as well as the ability to provide advice on a full range of transactional commercial matters.

The firm provides a comprehensive range of services to meet the needs of all its clients.

It is able to provide an excellent service to meet the needs of its clients and the recent addition of Paul, Laura and Fletcher will enable Callin Wild to continue to meet the needs and expectations of both existing and new clients within the frame work of the modern commercial world.

Paul Branford

Paul works in Callin Wild’s commercial department, and is experienced in dealing with all major forms of commercial transaction where advice on Isle of Man legal issues is required. Paul has particular expertise in advising on Isle of Man financial services laws, and his clients include investment funds, fund managers, investment managers, insurance companies and trustees.

As the Isle of Man has grown as a centre for online gaming, Paul has developed his skills in this area of the law, and has advised both e-gaming operators and regulators.

Paul is also a trust specialist, and has developed a niche practice dealing with the commercial use of trusts.

He has advised on the establishment, restructuring and re-financing of large unit trusts and on situations where a constructive or an implied trust can arise in the commercial arena.

As well as being a member of the Isle of Man Bar, Paul is also a Member of the Bar of England and Wales (non-practising), a Chartered Secretary and a member of the Securities and Investments Institute.

Laura Monk

Laura qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and worked for a leading regional law firm in the South East of England before joining a local law firm in February 2011.

Although Laura principally deals with commercial contracts and the issuing of legal opinions, she has extensive experience in the field of corporate and commercial law generally and advises in connection with a number of different areas, including e-gaming, financial services, data protection, banking and company law.

Fletcher Craine

Fletcher qualified as an advocate in 2009 and advises clients on various aspects of commercial litigation including debt recovery, contract disputes, injunctions and both on Island and cross-border insolvency. Fletcher regularly appears in court and was recently counsel in a multi-million dollar winding up claim against a Manx company.
