A couple with a strong affinity to the island and to the TT had their ideal wedding last week, arriving at the service on the back of their Harley Davidson motorbike.
The new Mr and Mrs Stopsorth have been travelling to the TT for 13 years, and last year decided this was the place they wanted to finally tie the knot.
Rob and Di, of Helsby, Cheshire, had the service at the register office at Castle Rushen, with Rob’s son travelling over to see his father marry, alongside a host of friends from the island they have become close to over their many visits.
At the service, bride, groom and many of wedding guests were dressed in bike leathers.
They held the reception at the home of family friend Kirsty Pendlebury in Port St Mary, whose father Rob first became friends with after meeting on a course 20 years ago.
After a wedding present day out at the Grandstand, the newlyweds sailed home on Friday having enjoyed a wedding and a honeymoon rolled into one.
‘The service was lovely,’ said Kirsty. ‘With the Harley Davidson and being in leathers, it was exactly what they wanted it to be.
‘It was small and intimate, I think it was quite special for them.’
