FIREFIGHTERS were called to a ‘full emergency’ at Ronaldsway Airport last night.
There was a technical problem with a British Airways Saab 2000 aircraft on its start up.
The aeroplane’s captain successfully shut down the aircraft. The airport’s fire crew remained on the scene until they were sure everything was safe.
Two pumping appliances from Castletown, one pump from Port Erin, one pump and ‘enhanced rescue unit’ from Douglas attended.
They were alerted at about 5.50pm with a 999 call confirming a ‘full emergency’ at the airport.
