DETECTIVES are working with forensic scientists, a pathologist and fire investigation officers to try to establish the cause of a car fire at the Point of Ayre. A man’s body was found in the car.
Inspector Juan Kinley said: ‘There is nothing at this time to indicate that this is suspicious but we are keeping an open mind as to the cause of the fire.
‘Due to the nature of the incident we have not been in a position to make a formal identification at this stage.
‘I would further appeal to anyone who may have been in the area of Bride, Cranstal Road and the Point of Ayre between 5pm and around 8pm on Tuesday, April 9, to contact the police.
‘I would like to thank all the members of the public who have already contacted us with information.’

In a separate incident, between 10am and 1.15am today, a parked, unattended van was reported as being on fire, In the Glen Falcon Road in Douglas.
