PEEL MHK Tim Crookall is one of the volunteers who will walk on fire and ice for a charity on Saturday.
He will also be taking part in the Children’s Centre abseil off the Point of Ayre Lighthouse in the morning then walking on ice for Hospice outside the post office in Regent Street, Douglas, in the afternoon followed by a stroll across fire in the evening down on North Quay.
As we reported last week, the ice and firewalking are being organised by a UK-based company and are entirely safe, even though the ‘ice’ is, in fact, broken glass and the fire walk is done bare-foot over red-hot wood embers with a temperature of around 800C.

James Bailey, aged 28, who works for Optimus Fiduciaries in Castletown and lives in Kirk Michael, is also doing the same three fun challenges this Saturday.
You can support either by sponsoring them or donating to Hospice via www.hospice.org.im
