PASSENGER watchdog TravelWatch has published an online guide for visitors to the Isle of Man.
The guide provides advice on how to visit the island with or without your car – and includes details of public transport.
It can be accessed via the watchdog’s website {http://www.travelwatch-isleofman.org|www.travelwatch-isleofman.org}, where a printer-friendly version is also available.
TravelWatch say that although a lot of information is available to help potential visitors in looking at travel possibilities to the island, it is spread fairly widely across a range of publications and websites.
Often visitors will decide on whether or not to visit based on the cost of travel – without realising the range of public transport options there are to get to the island, coupled with the excellent public transport facilities on the Isle of Man itself.
The guide is the brain-child of committee member John Pennington, who said: ‘We identified a need to provide comprehensive information on the different ways of travelling to the island, especially aimed at potential visitors who have never been to the island before and were not sure whether they might need to bring or hire a car, and the relative costs of the different options.’
