LAWYERS acting for an Isle of Man-based tax consultancy have accused UK authorities of acting ‘outrageously’ over its investigations into a tax scheme.
HMRC has sent letters to subscribers of a tax scheme run by Montpelier Tax Consultants, warning them that it is under investigation.
Mark Spragg of Keystone Law, which is acting for Montpelier, said: ‘The Revenue has acted quite outrageously. It is accusing the subscribers of illegality which is quite absurd.’
