Relay For Life Isle of Man is ready for another record-breaking year of fundraising for Cancer Research UK and is urging teams and participants to register now.
The 24-hour event at the NSC, on the August 27 bank holiday weekend, is one of the island’s largest community fundraising events and is supported throughout the year by initiatives such as bingo nights and car boot sales.
Organising committee chairman Lynn Bell said: ‘Last year our tent pitches at the NSC were full to capacity, so to make sure your team have the best Relay experience my advice is to register now.’
All money raised goes directly into funding research.
Lynn said: ‘We want to make a difference and having smashed three figures last year with £123,694.26p and coming second in the UK in terms of fundraising . We have an ambitious target this year of £150,000. I’m sure our teams are more than capable of reaching, and probably exceeding, that target and I know they will never stop fighting back against cancer.’
The event is again sponsored by Celton Manx. To register, visit www.cruk.org/relay. For more details, email relayiom@gmail.com or visit Facebook or Twitter.
