A leading UK fungi expert is set to return to the island to search for unusual mushrooms, toadstools and fungi in an attempt to increase local knowledge and expertise.
Nev Kilkenny, a top UK expert on the identification of mushrooms, toadstools and other fungi, has joined forces with The Isle of Man Fungus Group to hold two workshops on basic and advanced fungi identification on September 12, 13 and 14.

‘We are fortunate that Nev will spearhead our search for fungi again this autumn, leading walks in several island hot-spots and teaching members how to identify Manx fungi. It is great fun and can be extremely rewarding when rare and new species are identified’.
The main workshop will take place on Saturday, September 12, and the next day at 10am at Knockaloe Beg Farm costing £40 and the advanced workshop will be held on Monday September 14 costing £50.
