A review website for dog friendly places on the Isle of Man has just added its 100th place.
DogFriendly.im was created by dog owner Tom Brew after news that the government had changed its policy in relation to allowing dogs into food premises.
The website lets residents and visitors easily find, rate and review dog friendly pubs, cafes, restaurants, accommodation and shops around the island.
Tom said: ‘This pragmatic approach by government has really been embraced by Manx businesses and, as a dog owner myself, I wanted to create a website that would allow us all to find somewhere to take our dogs after a good walk in the hills.’
Minister for Environment, Food and Agriculture, Richard Ronan MHK, said: ‘Our decision to allow premises serving food the freedom to welcome dogs, provided that strict hygiene standards are maintained, has been warmly greeted. The website will allow dog owners to easily check the policy of the pub, café, restaurant or accommodation they are heading to.’
