UK building supplier Screwfix hopes to open a store in the island early next year.
Screwfix is currently advertising on its website for a branch manager, assistant manager, customer service supervisor and a part-time service assistant based in the Isle of Man.
A company spokesman said it could not provide any ‘concrete details’ about opening a store in the island at present, but added: ‘We just know it is anticipated to open in the early part of next year.’
The spokesman said they had ‘no idea where’ in the Isle of Man the store would be located.
The company, part of Kingfisher plc alongside B&Q, is the UK’s largest direct and online supplier of trade tools, accessories and hardware products to tradesmen, handymen and serious DIY enthusiasts.
There are more than 245 Screwfix branches across the UK.
It supplies 18,000 products including thousands of high quality fixings and fastenings, hand tools, power tools, plumbing and electrical supplies, kitchens and bathrooms, landscaping and outdoor products, safety products and workwear, and building supplies.
