The police have paid tribute to a man who was found dead at the weekend.

As we {http://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/isle-of-man-news/missing-man-body-found-1-7181566|reported earlier in the week}, Darren Gale, who was 43 and from Sulby, was last seen on Tuesday and police had put out a plea to discover his whereabouts.

A statement posted on the police’s Facebook page reads: ‘The Youth Justice Team are greatly saddened at the news of the sudden death of one of its long serving and valued team members, Mr Darren Gale.

‘Darren worked for the team for over seven years and during this time he made a positive contribution to many of the island’s young people who had found themselves at odds with the law.

‘As a team we know many of the young people who Darren has worked or had contact with will remember Darren and will share in the sadness felt by his loss.’

The statement said young people affected by Mr Gale’s death could get help from the service.

The Youth Justice Team said it would like to make staff available to any of the young people affected by Darren’s death and invited them to make contact with the team through Jackie Pate on 686156 or on 464175 or by calling into the Youth Justice offices on the third floor of Murray House, Douglas, where any member of the team would make themselves available to talk.
