An annual fundraising event in Douglas is aiming to raise £20,000 for the Isle of Man Alzheimer’s Society.
The third KPMG Promenade Relay, in which hundreds of teams comprising two or four people complete a 10 kilometre course along Douglas promenades, is taking place on June 26.
This year the company has set itself the target of raising £20,000 for the charity to beat last year’s £18,000 and reach a grand total of £50,000 raised by individuals and companies over the last three years.
The event, which is supported by a host of corporate sponsors, is now accepting entries for private and corporate teams to raise their own sponsorship money.
First, second and third place prizes of £300, £200 and £100 are available for the both the fastest and the best-dressed teams.
Event co-ordinator Paul Cawley of KPMG said: ‘Last year’s relay was our most successful yet, with over £18,000 raised by hundreds of runners and in front of hundreds of enthusiastic spectators.
‘We had record times, perfect sunny weather, some incredible fancy dress outfits and a great afternoon out all for a great cause.
‘We can’t wait for this year’s event and I urge you all to get involved and show your support for a critical charity, The Alzheimer’s Society. I’ll see you on the start line!’
The relay will begin at 5.30pm on Friday, June 26. To register visit www.kpmg.co.im/promenaderelay
