Money raised during the annual Julie Brew Memorial Walk has been presented to two charities.
Julie was a popular Peel hairdresser who died in 2008 due to a previously undetected heart condition and the event has taken place each year since alongside the Peel 10 running race in aid of good causes.
Alison Cowin is pictured receiving a cheque for £1,500 on behalf of Arthritis Care Ellan Vannin while a further £1,600 has been donated to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital Charity.
Making the presentation are Julie’s sons Lewis, 14, and Owen, 11, and father-in-law Gordy Brew, who also helped organise the event on behalf of Western Athletics Club.
This year’s walk will take place on September 13.
