The annual commemorative service to honour the memory of Sir William Hillary, the Douglas resident who founded the RNLI, will be held on Sunday at St George’s Church, Douglas, at 3pm.
The service is to be conducted by the Archdeacon of Man, the Venerable Andrew Brown.
Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood will lay a wreath on the tomb of Sir William and Lady Hillary in St George’s Churchyard after the service.
The Douglas station invited all supporters to attend. Refreshments will be served afterwards in the South Douglas Old Friends’ Association premises in Finch Road, Douglas.
