Vandals in a motor vehicle have badly damaged a field about a mile from St Luke’s Church in East Baldwin.
The land is next to the Millennium Way but is private property and is used as grazing land.
Police Sergeant Barry Hand, who is investigating, said: ‘We would request that members of the public refrain from taking vehicles off road and on to any private land without the landowners’ permission.
‘Anyone found causing damage to the countryside or private land in this manner could potentially be dealt with by the police.’
The incident happened on Friday or Saturday last week.
