BIG signs have gone up outside the forthcoming Currys and PC World saying the store is ‘opening soon’.
But Dixons Retail plc are remaining tight-lipped on the date the store, in Spring Valley Industrial Estate, in Douglas, will be opening its doors to customers.
iomtoday asked when the store was due to open, and what work was taking place at the moment.
A spokesman said he couldn’t release those details, but said: ‘We’re very excited to be bringing a brand new “two in one” Currys and PC World Superstore to the island.
‘Currys is the UK’s market leader in electricals for the home, and PC World is the market leader in computing.
‘Together, they offer the best of both worlds and will offer all the latest technology, with a team of friendly experts ready to find the right products for customers.’
Over the summer it was advertising for staff to work in the store.
A bid for a 634 square metre internal mezzanine floor was refused in February.
Currys’ range includes TVs, washing machines and cookers.
PC World sells laptops, desktop PCs, iPads and accessories.
