A complete menagerie of ghouls and ghosts will be lurking in the shadows in Summerhill Glen at the weekend as part of a special Hop tu Naa celebration.

Behind the unearthly extravaganza is event company PSS and they hope to raise money to donate to Hospice Isle of Man.

Thunder and lightning will be on tap courtesy of ELS lighting services and also supporting the event will be Event Management Solutions and Taylor Made Events.

Chris Mooney of PSS said: ‘We are going to use a loop walkway in the glen and there will be all sorts of characters there from the films. such as Jason out of Friday the Thirteenth.

‘Some of the characters will be jumping out on people but we will vary it depending on whether it’s adults or kids. Obviously we will tone it down for the kids! We’ve sectioned of part of the walkway for it.’

He added the idea was to make the sessions more frightening as the evening got later and younger children were no longer present.

Parking will be on the Old Boys’ Football Club car park on Blackberry Lane where there will also be hot food available as well as free entertainment for the children and competitions face painting, blindfold boxing and so on. Parking and shuttle bus from Victoria Road Shoprite. Prizes will be dished out on the night by the Mayor Councillor Stan Cain. Tickets can be bought on the night or ordered at PSS@manx.net. Entry costs £3 for adults and £1.50 for children and the event runs from October 31 to November 2, 6pm to 10pm,
