Getting back to normal at Isle of Man Bank

Everything is getting back to normal at the Isle of Man Bank, NatWest and RBS, according to the company.

The banking group issued a statement today after customers were hit by a computer glitch.

Bill Shimmins who is the island director for Royal Bank of Scotland International said: ‘RBS International, NatWest, locally, and Isle of Man Bank can confirm that the update of customer account balances has now largely cleared.

‘Work continues to bring some specific offshore systems up to date and every effort is being made to achieve this as quickly as possible. We know this disruption has been unacceptable for which we apologise and that many customers will still have questions and concerns. However, we can reassure customers that no one will be left permanently out of pocket as a result of this and thank them for their patience during this incident.

‘Our teams locally stand ready to help customers. We will continue with extended opening hours for the remainder of this week and have extensive customer support to mitigate the effect of this disruption. The bank is very grateful to our staff for the extraordinary efforts they are making to help and serve our customers.’
