Firefighters tackled a blaze in a barn yesterday afternoon (Thursday).
They were called at about 2.45pm from Peel fire station attended a barn fire on Glen Moar Road, St John’s.
Firefighting operations were hampered by poor water supplies, the presence of live electrical cables and the stability of the building.
Once the electrical supply was isolated the fire was extinguished using a hosereel and a jet.
Crews stayed there for about two hours dampening down the contents of the barn and making the building safe.
