Four dedicated walkers and talkers with a combined age of 259 received certificates to mark milestones.
Mona Lowe (second from left), who is 80 and has attended the sessions at the NSC, Douglas, since they started in 1999, has clocked up 3,000 miles, which is virtually the equivalent of walking from Douglas to New York. She could be said to be following in the footsteps of husband Albert who has also covered the same distance. Maureen Crossley (left), aged 75, Jeanette Harwood, 50, (second right) and Helen Greene, 54, (right) have each completed 2,000 miles – the equivalent of walking to Cyprus.
The walk and talk programme is supported by the public health department. Each of the walkers was presented with a certificate at the NSC to mark their achievement.
