The House of Keys return after the Easter recess with a busy agenda for this week’s sitting.
There are 14 questions for oral answer and a further six for written reply.
In addition, MHKs will debate Legislative Council amendments to the Control of Employment Bill, which seeks to modernise the work permit system.
Liberal Vannin leader Kate Beecroft (Douglas) will continue her campaign for improvements to the running of Noble’s by asking Chief Minister Allan Bell whether the £2.1m allocated for recommendations of an independent review into the health service will be sufficient - whether more funds would be made available if needed.
A damning report by the West Midlands Quality Review Service into patient care at Noble’s Hospital highlighted staff shortages, weak management and a culture of blame. It calls for urgent action to provide clinical staff with a mechanism to raise concerns.
Douglas North MHK John Houghton will quiz Mr Bell on what action he is able to take to help investors to recover their savings lost as a result of neglect by local financial consultants.
Further questions are raised about the National Insurance Fund after Treasury Minister Eddie Teare warned that money to pay the state pension would run out by 2050 unless action is taken now.
Peter Karran (Lib Van, Onchan) will ask Mr Teare how much money would be added to the Fund if those workers who are over pension age were to continue to pay National Insurance contributions?
Mr Karran will also ask the Treasury Minister about the cost of the personal allowance tax credit and what plans he has to remove the allowance for those with capital above a certain limit.
The Onchan Lib Van member also has questions for Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne about the stance of businesses operating in the town’s food part towards plans for a new sewage works to be built close by.
Douglas East MHK Brenda Cannell Cannell) will press Infrastructure Minister Laurence Skelly to reduce the charge to renew a driver’s licence for those who suffer from diabetes.
Michael MHK Alfred Cannan will quiz Economic Development Minister John Shimmin over why he hired a retail consultant to provide advice over Callow’s Yard, Castletown.
Mr Shimmin will also be asked, by Mr Houghton, to outline what progress made on plans for a TT World Series.
