A PEEL man hopes to have raised more than £2,000 for charity after walking the TT Course last Sunday.
Glenn Saunders, aged 36, was keen to raise money for Breakthrough Breast Cancer after his mum Carol was diagnosed with the disease last year.
Glenn, an assistant financial controller with Continent 8 Technologies Plc, left the Grandstand, in Glencrutchery Road, Douglas, and completed the 37.73-mile course with his friend Chaz Gardner in about 10 and a half hours.
‘It was much as I expected, to be honest,’ Glenn said.
‘Some of the views are spectacular and you appreciate the island we live in on foot a lot more than you do from a car.
‘Coming out of Ramsey up to the Verandah was hard – that road is never-ending on foot!’
Carol, aged 62, who is retired and lives in Onchan with her husband Alex, was diagnosed with breast cancer in August of last year and has undergone surgery and chemotherapy.
Glenn thanked his wife Tracy and brother Gary for their support on the day.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer is dedicated to the prevention, treatment and ultimate eradication of breast cancer.
It works on three fronts – research, campaigning and education – to save and change lives by removing the fear of breast cancer for good.
