Cavendish Trust continued its commitment to helping to grow the Island’s space sector by taking part in the inaugural International Space Commerce Summit in London .
The event attracted more than 100 attendees from 13 different countries and represented a wide range of those involved in the sector including entrepreneurs, investors, National Space Agencies, space vehicle operators, space port operators, start ups, regulators, academics, policy advisors, manufacturers, journalists and lawyers.
Representing Cavendish was director Tim Craine, who was formerly the island’s director of space commerce.
Tim delivered a speech on the compelling benefits available to the space industry in the Isle of Man and of effective public/ private sector partnerships in the space industry to the assembled audience.
Tim told Business News: ‘The space industry is going through a period of rapid change at the moment with increasing levels of investment from the private sector as the commercial rewards become more achievable through technological advances.
‘The island is ideally placed to capitalise on the business opportunities that are now being developed’
Fellow director Tina Rawlinson said that ‘space commerce is a natural addition to the space sector services already provided by Cavendish Trust, especially given the island’s significantly competitive financial platform.’
