A WOMAN was cut from her car by fire crews after a two vehicle crash on the New Castletown Road yesterday (Thursday).

The crash, involving a Vauxhall Corsa and Renault Megane Scenic, happened at 7.30pm near the Hop Garden, in Santon.

Two fire fighting appliances and a rescue unit from Douglas attended the scene.

Fire station officer Nigel Cain said: ‘Fortunately no one appeared to be seriously injured and the only person requiring Fire and Rescue assistance was the driver and sole female occupant of the Vauxhall Corsa, who was treated on scene by ambulance personnel after being freed from her car by fire crews.

‘The occupants of the Megane, waited in a nearby home to be picked up by a family member.’
