Port Erin’s firefighters were called to a house fire in Port St Mary this morning.
They were called at 6:42am to Victoria Road.
The occupier told them a fire had broken out in the kitchen.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a fire fighting hose reel to fully extinguish the fire.
Crews then remained there for about 30 minutes to make sure that the fire had been extinguished and all hot spots fully cooled.
Once the property had been deemed safe crews returned to home station.
The occupier was treated on scene by ambulance crews for smoke inhalation, before being discharged from their care.
