THE ‘green’ factor is something which the managing director of Douglas-based Words & Spaces takes very seriously in his day-to-day working practices, particularly when his surname also happens to be Green.
‘Environmental responsibility is all important,’ says Mark Green, whose printing business has been given the prestigious ISO 14001: 2004 environmental management system accreditation after a series of detailed processes and monitoring procedures to achieve it.
‘We are really delighted to have received the best environmental standard possible and it is an accreditation which both existing and potential clients look to us to have in contributing to a cleaner and better environment,’ he added.
Mr Green, who set up Words & Spaces 22 years ago, said the business was enjoying steady growth and investment, with a client base which includes some of the major companies and organisations in the island.
ISO QA Ltd director Kevin Burnell said: ‘We were delighted to help Mark and his team achieve this prestigious accreditation which confirms the company’s commitment to reduce its impact on the environment.’ He added: ‘It is businesses like Words & Spaces that help to create a healthier and more sustainable environment for the island as a whole. This accreditation puts them in the forefront of environmental responsibility.’
