LADIES of Mann Motorcycle Club marks its 10th anniversary shortly and is calling on all members past and present to join them to mark the occasion.
The all-female bike club, founded by the late Diane Chreseson, had its inaugural ride out on February 16, 2002, and is marking the occasion with a bash at the Creg-ny-Baa this Saturday (February 18).
Founder member Diane Wilkinson said: ‘It is easy to lose touch with people so it is a chance to get together again with old friends. You become quite close to people in a club like that because you spend time together on activities and trips away.
Mrs Wilkinson (previously Mrs Dedman) said the club remains active with rides out every other Sunday, a meal out about once a month. It has one trip away planned for this July.
‘It would also be nice to welcome any new members,’ she added.
‘We are happy for anyone to come along and ride with us. There is no age limit – I am 65 and still riding – but equally we welcome young people even if they are still learning they can still come along.’
Mrs Wilkinson said over the years the club had probably had about 60 members at different times and current membership stands at about 20.
