Would-be festival-goers who bought tickets to the Isle of Man Festival should get a refund by the end of this month.

The festival, which had been due to take place last weekend, was cancelled on June 24.

Organiser Chris Heyes said: ‘We weren’t prepared to simply cancel the festival and walk away.

‘Many people on and off the island supported us and it is important to us that we repay that support and make every endeavour to ensure full refunds as quickly as possible.’

The festival organisers already claim that many people have already been refunded but caution that it takes a little time to address as tickets were sold from various outlets.

Mr Heyes said: ‘We have already refunded many people who paid by Paypal through our website. This process will continue over the coming few weeks.

‘Our sponsor, Manx Telecom, has also started refunding tickets, bought from them. We advise any persons who bought through Manx Telecom to contact it directly.’

Anyone who bought their tickets at the Welcome Centre, at the Villa Marina, or through the Villa Marina booking system via the festival website, have been assured that they too will be refunded.

Ticket holders who bought via these places may now contact the Villa Marina box office for a refund.

Mr Heyes added: ‘We’re on course to ensure that everyone has been refunded by the end of July.

‘We’d like to have done it quicker but logistics mean that we need these few weeks.

‘We’d like to thank everyone for their patience and for supporting our efforts to bring a fantastic music festival to our island.

‘We have been overwhelmed at the positivity from you all and have received countless requests that we try again next year and make the festival happen.

‘The future is unwritten but let’s first make sure that everyone that supported us this year is repaid.’
