THE opportunity to give your favourite bobby a pat on the back is here again as nominations are invited for the annual Isle of Man Newspapers Community Police Officer of the year.
The award is the chance to highlight work done by your favourite bobby, who can be of any rank in the force.
He or she might have gone beyond the call of duty to help you, have worked closely with your local school, or have simply been a friendly face to turn to for a chat about local issues.
Last year’s winner of the Isle of Man Newspapers Community Police Officer of the Year was awarded to acting sergeant Andy Reed.
It was the fourth year acting Sergeant Reed had been nominated for the award and last year he was nominated by three groups.
The winner will be presented with their award at a police ceremony on Monday, March 26. Nominations must be in by Friday, March 2. The winner will be chosen by a judging panel at Isle of Man Newspapers from a number of nominations sent in by readers.
