The Isle of Man Festival, which was scheduled to take place at Noble’s Park on July 6, has been cancelled.
The organisers this afternoon issued a statement to announce the news.
It reads: ‘At this time, the event can’t move further forward due to the lack of ticket sales. The risk in pursuing the event would put businesses on and off the island in jeopardy.

‘A great festival was planned for the Isle of Man - with global artists, international and local media partners and world reaching sponsors. Sadly, this cannot now be realised.
‘The organisers wish to thank all those who committed their support and those people who did purchase tickets.
‘Ticket refunds should be directed to the agent from where tickets were purchased (i.e. PayPal or the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre).
‘Every endeavour to make full refunds on tickets will be made by organisers.’
Among the acts scheduled to play were Primal Scream, Paloma Faith, Toseland and the island’s very own Davy Knowles.
MTV, the satellite music channel, was a sponsor.
Tickets started at £55. VIP tickets were £150.
Just eight hours before organisers announced they had pulled the event, the Isle of Man Festival’s Twitter feed tweeted: ‘Good morning campers, and day ticket holders. Just 12 days to go until the festival. IT’S YOUR ISLAND, IT’S YOUR FESTIVAL.’
The Twitter feed is responding to disappointed fans’ tweets.
