Participants put their best foot forward for the Parish Walk on Saturday.

This year the event celebrated its 100th birthday – and all walkers who reached Santon received a commemorative medal.

More than 1,300 walkers made it to the start of the 85-mile race at the National Sports Centre track at 8am on Saturday.

In total, some 215 walkers completed the course, which takes in the Isle of Man’s 17 parishes. They had 24 hours to make it to the finish line on Douglas seafront.

Team Cool Ny Runnings, made up of David Horisk, Paul Kennish and Matt Cannell, were some of the 975 participants who made it to Peel (32.5 miles). They turned heads in the process, wearing spandex and carrying a bobsleigh, and raising money for Hospice Isle of Man along the way.

Others raising money for charity were Bob Corkish, 86, daughter Angie Aire and grandson Matthew, making up the Three Generations Team.

Bob and Angie reached Santon while Matthew walked to Peel, all for the Manx Blind Welfare Society.
