D-Day veteran Hector Duff led lessons at St Ninian’s Lower School this week.
During the sessions the 93-year-old spoke about his experiences of the Second World War, and students had the chance to ask him questions.
In addition, he helped the students research their entries for the annual Spirit of Normandy essay writing competition, on the subject of the British involvement in any aspect of D-Day and the invasion of Normandy.
St Ninian’s students have previously won this competition.
It was the 11th year running that Mr Duff visited the school to speak to year nine students (ages 13 and 14). He was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours, partly for his work with schools. Picture: JM130513 (89)
