It could be another three to four weeks before an independent report is produced on the viability of introducing bendy-buses in the island.
Community, Culture and Leisure Minister Graham Cregeen said the report will go to the Council of Ministers for a decision.
A month-long trial was conducted to test the bendy buses’ suitability for use on island roads.
But the articulated vehicles used in the trial sustained a series of breakdowns - causing embarrassment for public transport bosses.
Results of the trial went to an independent body which includes representatives from TravelWatch, the Department of Infrastructure and the Department of Education.
A change in law will be required to allow bendy-buses to operate here.
