A team from King William’s College won an inter-schools maths competition held at St Ninian’s High School, in Douglas.

Working in teams of four, year 10 students (ages 14 and 15) had to complete a series of challenging mathematical problems. The competition, held in the island for the first time this year, was organised by the Further Maths Support Programme, and it is hoped it will become an annual event. Organiser Colin Graham said it was ‘very successful’, with two teams taking part from four schools. It is hoped that all of the island’s secondary schools will enter next year.Members of the winning team pictures above are King William’s College pupils Ben Hui, Ciara Halton, Anna Hall and Jacky Chan and (centre) Colin Graham
