THE Isle of Man Agricultural Benevolent Trust – which acts in response to hardship in the sector – has seen a boost in support.
Isle of Man Young Farmers has donated £15,000 to the charity, and new Manx trio Barrule is encouraging its followers to download one of its songs for free and make a donation.
The trio – Tomas Callister (fiddle), Jamie Smith (accordian) and Adam Rhodes (bouzouk) – recorded 18th century ballad, Ny Kirree fo Niaghtey (The Sheep Under the Snow) as part of their debut album.
They will also donate 25 per cent of CD sales made from Monday (March 25) until Friday, April 12.

Support can take the form of one-off grants or interest free loans.
Trust chairman Graham Crowe said: ‘All the work we do is very discreet and conducted in completely confidential manner, but we are very happy to be associated with events that can raise our profile at a time like this on the fundraising side.’
