ADVOCATE John Quinn was today officially sworn-in as acting Attorney General of the island.
He takes his position during the suspension of Attorney General Stephen Harding, who is currently suspended from the position after he was charged with perjury and perverting the course of justice.
Mr Quinn took the oath of allegiance and oath of acting Attorney General during a private ceremony at Government House.
The warrant of appointment was presented by Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood on behalf of the Queen.
Mr Quinn has been appointed as acting Attorney General for a period of 12 months and will also work as legal adviser to the Lieutenant Governor, Council of Ministers, government departments and statutory boards.
He will also attend sittings of Tynwald and the Legislative Council.
He is a past president of the Isle of Man Law Society.
