A VEHICLE hit cast iron railings in Ramsey Road, Laxey, at its junction with Mines Road, police believe.
Ramsey police are appealing for information about the incident, which it is believed happened sometime before 8am on Tuesday last week (February 19) when a vehicle travelling in the direction of Ramsey lost control on the right hand bend and hit the railings running alongside the Manx Electric Railway track.
Debris left at the scene indicates the vehicle was a dark blue Ford Focus.
There was a heavy frost, which police believe may have contributed to the vehicle losing control.
Constable Darren Wylde urged anyone who witnessed the incident or could help identity the vehicle to get in touch. He also appealed to the driver to come forward. Contact Ramsey police station on 812234.
