A comfortable recliner chair, for use by patients attending the hospital’s day assessment treatment unit to relax in during infusions, has been bought from funds raised in memory of Hilda Young MBE.
Members of her family, aided by the Port Erin branch of the Isle of Man Anti-Cancer Association, raised £2,200 towards improving facilities for patients undergoing infusions as part of their treatment for cancer.
One of the main fund-raising events was a fashion show, themed around the 60s, held in Port Erin last summer.
Nurses at the unitg said it was ‘greatly appreciated and the patients are finding it very comfortable’.
